Foundation is a complex and captivating series. Isaac Asimov, one of the best authors of science fiction to have ever lived, artfully directs the plot and creates a beautiful story. Foundation is set in a distant future where humans live across the galaxy.  Hari Seldon, a mathematician from a rural planet goes to the capital, Trantor where he will present his theory that could possibly predict the future.  From then on he fights to survive and to defend his ideals his ideals against the decaying government. The following books show the descendants of Seldon’s theory who want to use it to protect the universe from a long era of death and misery. I truly recommend this series to readers for its complex and entrancing intrigue.

This well-know book series has led to the popular HBO show ‘ A Game of Thrones’  that attracts millions of viewers worldwide. The story is set in a medieval and magical world endangered by mysterious creature named the White Walkers.  This series is about the fight for power of the fictional land called Westeros and its is rich with intrigue and action. I highly recommend this series for it’s complexity and for certain endearing characters. The author weaves a complex and entrancing web of lies and deceit that enchants and bewilders the reader who becomes hooked. I recommend this book to fans of intricate and developed fantasy fiction. I am personally eagerly waiting for ‘Winds of Winter’, the next book to come out.

3. Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card

This series is very innovative because instead of a classic scenario where the aliens are just your classic bad guys in Ender’s Game they are complicated and multi-faceted. The story is set in a not too distant future where the Earth is overpopulated and Ender is a Third, one of the rare third child’s of a family. The fate of humanity depends on his genius and talent when the human race encounters a bizarre extraterrestrial entity. His amazing abilities are put to the test when he is trained as a killing machine and then manipulated into slaughtering an entire alien race. The first book is the true ‘hit’ of the series the following volumes are also very intricate and immersive as they follow the main character, Ender, trying to fix his mistakes and help find a home for the sentient aliens.

Here are three Honorable mentions that you should also check out:
